Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Less than a month after selling off its contracts division to Rockwood Holdings (CM 612 August) Tate ea Lyle Distribution Services has extended its contract with Redhill-based Hammond Transport Group, which now takes over all the distribution of TLDS' packed sugar products throughout the South of England and the Home Counties.

Until now Hammond has only provided TLDS with warehousing, but under the new agreement it has bought eight 16-tonne Mercedes-Benz rigids, two Daf tractive units and eight curtain-sided trailers from TLDS to serve the contract, which will be handled from its Redhill and Hemel Hempstead depots.

HTG will receive daily 20tonne loads of packed sugar from Tate & Lyle in London, which will be stored and picked before final delivery to customers along the south coast from Hastings to Weymouth, and as far north as Leicestershire.

The purchase of the TLDS vehicles increases Hammond's fleet to 80 HGVs and 60 trailers. Hammond recently took over Global Services (CM 9 May), and it now employs over 120 staff with a turnover of around 26 million a year.
