Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

As an international haulier I am amazed to read your Editorial -Meet Half Way(CM). Surely this work is ours. Why should we pass on our work and contacts to the Communists to make their job of undercutting take-overs. easier?

How long would it stay as half-way traffic? They would eventually push for their vehicles to carry it all the way, and as other countries like Italy go left, we could find a situation where we are not allowed into them As for the statement of State-owned companies with a high reputation for service and no mention of the degree to which they are supported by Government grants, as are our own nationalised vehicles, it reads to me that our private hauliers are incompetent and should hand their traffic over . to State bodies.

My opinion is that we should not hand our traffic to Communist countries who want and are working hard to a situation in this country where we will all be nationalised. It would seem by your article that you favour nationalisation. But beware, it is the private haulier that supports your publication. A fully

nationalised transport undertaking would not need an independent publication, they would print their own "Red , Transport Star".

If you are in a position to get permits to the Middle East there is, of course, no need to subcontract. There are those who are less fortunate. ED.
