THE tenth repeat order for BTC Four' in-Line semi-trailers to be placed by the AC-Delco division of General Motors Ltd. shows a change in specification from the former 27 ft. length. One of the first of the new trailers, which was delivered last week, is shown in the accompanying illustration; it has overall dimensions of 34 ft. by 7 ft. 8 in.
The canopy is of aluminium alloy on steel framework and the fireproof canvas curtains are secured by quickly detach able elasticated ropes to allow easy access to the full platform area for pallet loading. The Bedford tractive unit is fitted with a BTC/SAE fifth-wheel coupling. Unladen weight of the complete combination is 7 tons 17 cwt.
Not Over There: The RHA-sponsored trips to the USA and Canada, due to start on September I, have been cancelled. There was not enough support from members to enable the special concessionary rates for parties to he obtained.
