TENDERS will soon be called for by 1the Commissioner for Government Transport, Sydney, New South Wales, for the supply of up to 400 underfloor-engined chassis suitable for single-deck bodies 33 ft. long and 8 ft. wide.
Copies of the specification are available for inspection at the office of the Agent-General for New South Wales, 56 Strand, London, W.C.2, where they may be purchased at 10s. 6d. a set.
The size of the engine should be at least 9.6 litres, the wheelbase 17 ft. 6 in. and the turning circle 5 ft. 3 in. Alternative prices for the following gearbox arrangements will be required to be quoted: fluid coupling and Wilson preselective gearbox with either pedal or manual air-assisted change; fully automatic gear change with provision for manual selection to obtain engine braking.
