• Mersey Tunnel tolls will go up in about a month following a Department of Transport public inquiry. HGVs over 7.5 tonnes will pay 21.80, up 60p. A new category of light goods vehicles (under 7.5 tonnes) will pay £1.20— a 140% increase from 50p.
