Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Truck drivers deserve a proper workplace, and that means proper cabs, says United Road Transport generalsecretary Frank Griffin, launching a campaign to block any moves to reduce cab sizes.

"We must be aware that a section of this industry would like to see drivers standing to increase carrying capacity. Almost two thirds of a driver's working life is spent in his vehicle cab and he should have the very best," says Griffin.

He promises to put so much pressure on the industry and on vehicle manufacturers that they will have to listen to the drivers' point of view.

A report by the Dutch road transport industry into drawbars calls for an overall drawbar combination length of 18.75m, subject to a minimum cab length of 1.6m.
