DETAILED arrangements have now been announced for the Road Freight Transport international conference being sponsored by the Merseyside Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the Adelphi Hotel, Liverpool on Tuesday, May 22.

The conference is billed as a discussion on the future of the road freight transport industry with the EEC.

The speakers will include Kevin Leydon, Head of Div ision, Directorate B, Directorate-General VII, Commission of the European Communities, on "European Community Policy on Road Freight Transport"; Mr William Rodgers, Secretary of State for Transport in the last government on "Britain and the EEC"; Mr Malcolm Banks, president, Freight Transport Association, on "Problems of the UK Freight Operator in the EEC"; Mr Keith Wickenden, chairman, European Ferries and Felixstowe Dock and Railway Company, on "Cross Channel Traffic"; and Mr Robert Tekke, Nederlandsche Internationale Wegvervoer Organisatie (NIWO) on "The view from the Cross-Roads."

Fee for the conference which ends with an open forum is 645, plus VAT.
