THE FIRST pictures of the next generation Renault Trafic and Vauxhall Vivaro have surfaced during testing of a pair of development mules in France.
The vans appear to have lost their trademark roof bulge, as well as the long sloping windscreen and bonnet line. Instead, the roof is flat, and the bonnet has been raised, increasing the frontal area, to create a larger grille and bigger headlights — just visible beneath the camouflage. The higher bonnet line will house a new 2-litre engine with a
revised cooling system to meet forthcoming Euro-6 emission regulations from 1 September 2014.
Two models were seen testing. The f irst, thoughtto be the Renault, features a small cutaway section in the grille to house the French manufacturer's diamond badge, with the second vehicle (pictured) adopting a more graduated triangular panel for the Vauxhall griffin or Opel lightening bolt badges.
The official unveiling of the production model could happen as early as April 2014, at the CV Show in Birmingham.
