DAIMLER-BENZ are extendl their Transporter program with the addition of two ni models. The new vans and ph ups have a gvw of 4.6 tons a extend the 2.5 to 3.5 tons seri, A payload of around 2.5 to and a load volume of up to 1' cu m for vans is achieved for t twin-tyre transporter.
They are fitted with II uprated fouror five-cylinc diesel engines with 53kW ( bhp (DIN)) and 65kW (88 b (DIN)).
The company says the nt models have already prov themselves "to be robust al economical in cars and are tic being offered for the first time commercial vehicles".
The closely spaced gears the main driving ranges (third fifth gear) allow the driver adapt his vehicle to the flow traffic with precision and to ti vel economically in the low e gine speed ranges.
Besides the new five-spei manual gearbox, there is al the choice of the automatic fat speed gearbox. "It has proved be cost-saving, particularly ov short distances and for delive traffic," says MB.
