Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A COLLECTION and delivery service has been started by the London (East) containerbase at Chobham Farm. The service, which is described as an extension of facilities already on offer to customers, uses vehicles and drivers hired from local haulage contractors.

Mr R. G. Craige, transport controller and security officer for the base, who is in charge of the service, told CM on Monday that it was aimed at operators using the terminal for container loading and unloading. The service would offer next-day collection or delivery of goods in greater London to customers who notified their requirements by noon. Deliveries to other parts of the country would take three, four or five days.

Mr Craige was unable to say how many vehicles would be involved in the service.

The Chobham Farm depot has been the scene of several controversial disputes involving drivers and dockers.
