• category C and E candi Category C licences will be the rigid licences for vehicles over 3.5 tonnes and category E licences will be for artic drivers. Category A licences will be for motorcycles; B licences for cars below 3.5 tonnes and D licences will be for PSV drivers operating vehicles with more than eight seats, excluding the driver's seat.
Proposed amendments also include scrapping the Minimum Test Vehicle four-tonne subcategory and allowing any vehicle between 3.5 and 7.5 tonnes to be used in sub-category C for the test.
