• The hearing of allegations concerning a failure to produce tachograph charts and operate vehicles without an Operator's Licence by Joseph and Morris Doyle was adjourned until November following a mix-up by Oldbury Magistrates Court.
The partners, trading as Expressway Couriers, face a total of 52 charges relating to failures to produce charts and six relating to the unauthorised use of vehicles. Both defence and prosecution lawyers were informed that the case was to proceed at 10:00hrs on 17 October. However, on arrival at court they were told it was listed at 14:00hrs. That proved inconvenient to the prosecution and the case was adjourned until 13 November.
