• Bodybuilder Richard Webb has developed a beaver-tail on a Scania chassis for Gatwick Plant Hire.
The Scania 93H six-wheel 24-tonner is fitted with a Hiab 190 crane. The hydraulic beaver-tail distributes the weight of the plant being loaded over the rear to the ground rather than the vehicle Gatwick Plant needed a VB( coupling for a trailer. This has been designed as a pivoting unit which disappears between the chassis as the beaver-tail i lowered.
The loading ramps will fold forward onto the deck to accommodate large cabins.
