I United Transport Contract ..rvices has won four conacts worth more than £16 illion over the next five ars, in the brewery, petchemical, flour milling and 1Y sectors.
The company has handled ie distribution of Carlsberg la for the past 25 years under separate company, openhagen Transport. Now it )s expanded its brewery opration with a new contract ith Courage. It will trunk ourage take-home products at of Reading and Tadcaster sing a dedicated fleet featurig the Fosters livery.
Further business with Exxon hemicals is provided by a new ontract for the movement of ackaged products between the rarehouse, Exxon Chemical's lant at Fawley and other desnations. UTCS has also igned a major distribution deal iith Chancelot Milt, one of the largest flour millers in Europe, based in Leith, Scotland.
The final new deal is with Small Lots Mix-It, suppliers of Mix-It DIY materials. This will involve the transport of materials for the DIY, building and gardening trade.
Philip Harrisson, UTCS managing director, says: In the past three years we have placed more emphasis on the partnership approach and this has clearly played a major part in gaining these additional contracts."
UTCS officially opened a 1,640in2 warehouse in Grangemouth, Scotland last week.
Newly-formed United Transport Containers, part of the restructured United Transport America group. has won its first contract, for more than £900,000 worth of business • with 1BM.
The three-year deal involves moving IBM products to and from Amsterdam, Greenford, Diegem and Portsmouth. Groupage business included with the contract will be subcontracted to United Transport subsidiary Seatrans.
