Mr John Silbermann, chairman of the RHA, is chairman of the Brent Group of Companies, an industrial holding company which includes HaHet Silbermann Ltd, heavy hauliers. He has played an important part in education and training in the association, has been chairman of the Heavy Hauliers' Group and served on various national and local committees.

After a term as chairman of North London sub-area, he was Metropolitan and South-Eastern area chairman from 1972-74. It was in 1974 that he was elected a national vice-chairman. He assumed his present position last year.

Senior vice-chairman is Mr Ken Rogers, of Silver Roadways Ltd, Bury St Edmunds.
