THE road haulage activities of Bristol Industries, Ltd., carried on by Western Transport, Ltd., will be developed with the capital obtained from the sale of the group's interests in soft-drink manufacture. This information was given exclusively to The Cotiimercial Motor by Mr. A. F. Wills, vice-chairman of Bristol Industries, Ltd.

Four old-established mineral-water concerns, producing Neptune cordials, have been sold to Thomas and Evans, Ltd., makers of Corona drinks. The transfer involves the taking-over by Thomas and Evans, Ltd., of some 250 delivery vehicles, most of which are 11--tonners. The buyers are understood to have 800 vehicles already.

In.A PERSPEX container is being used hi place of a conventional body on a vehicle employed on collection and delivery work by Zoric (Process) Dry Cleaning, Glasgow.

The container has side doors, and the interior is fitted with tubular lighting and garment rails. Up to 50 soiled garments can be carried in a metal compartment provided between the container and the driver's cab.

OMCIALS of West Hartlepool Transport Department have been asked by the transport committee to report on a proposal that a Id. fare should be reintroduced. The committee, faced with a deficit of £5,000 for this year, are to call in an expert to advise on reorganizing services.
