Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

FUTURE OF VULCAN VEHICLES.

Tilling-Stevens, Ltd., of Maidstone, is acquiring the manufacturing rights of the well-known Vulcan commercial vehicles, and will, in due course, commence manufacture at its Maidstone works and market the vehicles through a new company, shortly to be formed, under the title of Vulcan Motors, Ltd., Meanwhile, .production is being carried on at Southport, to ensure supplies of Vulcan vehicles and spares being maintained without interruption.

All Long-distance Traffic for Big Vehicles?

A system whereby, under a general scheme of rates stabilization, owners of smaller vehicles would pass on longdistance traffic to operators of large vehicles and receive a commission, was visualized by Mr. J. Poulter, during a discussion on rates stabilization, at a meeting of the transport section of Bradford Chamber of Trade, on Monday.

Mr. M. Field raised the question of the position of the small-vehicle owner under stabilization, pointing out that for long-distance journeys it would not pay him to operate at a rate which would be economic in the case of a large lorry fully loaded. If there were simply a rate based on big-vehicle operation, the light haulier would be unable to compete at such a rate for long-distance journeys.

Mr. H. Woodhead, of Queensbury, remarked that the stabilized rates would be minima. One point about which he felt concern was as to the railway position in relation to rates stabilization, Tractor Instruction for Farm Workers.

The Tractor Users Association is holding a conference at Caxton Hall, Westminster, London, S.W.1, on Tuesday next (November 30), at 2.30 p.m., to discuss ways and means for securing provision of adequate facilities for the instruction of young farm workers and others in the proper care and management of tractors and other farm machinery.

Lord Phillimore has promised to preside.
