Paul Daws has become forecast manager for CAP Commercial Vehicle Monitor, replacing John Watts, who has taken on a new project for CAP Fildes has been involved in the automotive industry for 18 years. He started out in 1987 as an apprentice mechanic for Lookers, a prominent Rover agent. After completing his apprenticeship he quit the spanners and joined ADT, better known today as British Car Auctions, as an auction assistant. In 1994 he went into the independent car and van trade as a salesman, before joining CMA, now Manheim Auctions, at its Rothwell site in 1998.

He moved to Manheim's site at Haydock to become CV manager in 2000 until leaving to join CAP During his time in the auction business the biggest change has been the volume of vans going through the halls.
