his vehicle at his when not in use has led to a fiveday licence suspension for Swansea-based Jeffrey Robinson. Robinson, of Bond Street, Swansea, who holds a one-vehicle licence, appeared at a Cardiff disciplinary inquiry before South Wales Licensing Authority John Mervyn Pugh.

The LA said on five occasions the vehicle was not kept at Robinson's Tumble operating centre, despite two letters from Robinson giving assurances the practice would stop.

For Robinson, Paul Carless said that he had held a licence for a long time and in other respects there had been no problem. The difficulty was that the Tumble operating centre was no longer convenient but Robinson had now been able to obtain alternative premises.

Suspending the licence, with a serious warning, Mervyn Pugh said that parking away from the declared operating centre was a serious matter as it became an environmental issue. If Robinson's vehicle was seen again in the vicinity of his home address, the licence would be revoked and he would be disqualified from holding a licence. "The public need to be protected," he said.
