recent world-record breaking 7,600-tonne Econofreight load-out at the Press Offshore Hadrian Central yard took place on a day chosen by the client and not dictated by tidal conditions in the River Tyne.
The move, which took place approximately three months ago, could have been carried out OD more than 100 days in the year, says the company, and the quayside is designed to carry 10 tonnes/M2 — almost twice the load imposed by Econofreight's trailers (CM, 31 March-6 April 1988).
