• Liverpool Polytechnic has started to recruit students for a new part-time diploma course in transport studies beginning in October 1988.
Day-release and evening class options will be available. Like the Open University, Liverpool poly will allow students to work at their own pace and pass by amassing seven course elements.
The poly is applying to the Chartered Institute of Transport for recognition, so that students who gain the diploma are exempt from the institute's qualifying examinations.
