• BRS Midlands' 24 million depot at West Bromwich was opened last week by BRS Group managing director Ron Irons.
The branch has 130 powered vehicles and 130 trailers in stock, and is managed by Ewen Kinnear. Staff completed the move over a weekend. The branch will contribute to an expected BRS Midlands turnover of £80 million this year.
o BRS Group says its business increased by 20% in the first quarter of the year over 1987. This is despite the traditional post-Christmas slump which usually makes January to March the most difficult period of the year, says the group. It added 400 vehides to its fleet in the first three months of 1988.
