Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A number of exotic trucks and vans appeared at this year's Finnish Motor Show in Helsinki. The country enjoys some of the highest weight limits in Scandanavia and Europe.

Several months ago the Finns introduced a width limit of 2.6m, and logging rigs already run at 56 to 60-tonnes GVW. Big is beautiful in Finland: the 16 tonne-plus market accounts for over half its lorry sales.

Volvo, Scania and Sisu lead the race — Mercedes-Benz is the only non-Scandinavian to have made any impression so far — but, as reported in Commercial Motor last week, Iveco is now poised to join the fray. The show, like the market, is an interesting one.
