DEVON COUNTY COUNCIL is selling advertising space on its 300 commercial vehicles and pool cars, and expects to bring in £75,000 profit to the council after the first year.
Initially, the scheme is being run for an 18-month experimental period on the 300 vehicles, but if it is a success it will be extended to 800 vans, with a potential profit of £250,000.
The advertising agency, Just Note, is ensuring that advertisements are linked to the work of the council department on whose vehicles they are carried.
