RO-RO ships are particularly suited for the Italian coastal trade, explained a paper by M. Monica, G. A. Pasquali and R. Repetto, of the Maritime Economics Department, Genoa.
Despite a lack of reliable data, they said there is no doubt that coastal ro-ro is likely to increase for vehicles, machinery and manufactured products.
