Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

VOLVO HAS a new cast aluminium alloy wheel which is being manufactured to Volvo's specification by a Scandinavian supplier.

The wheel is deeply scalloped and finned for good heat dissipation.

It weighs about 12kg less than an equivalent pressed steel wheel but is about 8kg heavier than a forged aluminium alloy component.

The wheel's price, though not yet fixed by Volvo (GB), is expected to fall somewhere between that of a steel and forged aluminium type.

Casting and then machining a wheel gives the advantage of better concentricity of stud hole centres.

Volvo continues to use ISO spigot mounting for its new wheel but special sleeved nuts, have been adopted so that existing studs may be used.

The nuts are fitted, in normal Volvo style, with captive conical washers. The Volvo wheel is not interchangeable with other types.
