FRANCE has ended the practice of no-passport 60-hour permit excursions from July 6 for immigration control reasons.
The ban could cost coach and ferry operators millions of pounds by reducing French day trips and hypermarket visits.
The Bus and Coach Council and the General Council of British Shipping are campaigning to change the French decision and are hoping that the Foreign Office will be able to negotiate a compromise with the French before the deadline.
