National Bus Company management has welcomed the views contained in the latest House of Commons transport committee's public expenditure report. This urges that any regulatory changes which threaten to undermine the scope for crosssubsidy and the major networks of local bus services should be approached with caution (CM, May 19).
NBC chief executive Robert Brook said that the committee's conclusion provided an encouraging confirmation of the group's own belief that any changes to the bus industry should be of an ordered character capable of withstanding the test of time.
