FITTING a hub odometer is about the only method of recording the running mileage of a trailer.
Veeder-Root's series 7777 unit, a simple bolt-on unit measuring 81mm (3.2in) in diameter and weighing 600g (1.31b), is covered by a 200,000 mile warranty without time limit.
The steel ball anti-orbit mech anism records each rotation of the wheel, forwards or backwards. A range of ratios accommodates different tyre and wheel sizes to give a readout in miles or kilometres.
