BRITISH VEHICLE and accessory manufacturers are well represented at Expomat 78, the 11th International Public Works Exhibition being held at Le Bourget, Paris, which closes on Saturday, May 27.
This year there are 1,200 exhibitors from 23 countries. The Committee for European Construction Equipment has decided to that in the future Expomat will be held every four years.
British Leyland are showing for the first time a tipper version of the 6x4 Marathon 2 for th French market. There is also a new Scammell Crusader CR 100-tonne tractive unit. (See Technical news p24.) Other British vehicles to be seen are a Foden 6-wheel sleeper cab tractive unit and a Bedford TM V8.
