So said Sir Stanley Raymond, chairman of British Railways, when he opened the third Coal Handling Exhibition in London this week.
More than 30 exhibitors displayed the latest aids in coal handling.
Two prototype steel containers, the recently introduced Tippermatic mounted on a Big .1 and Albion Super Clydesdale chassis were just some of the items on display from Charrold Ltd.,
Atldnson's of Clitheroe showed, among other items, a demountable bulk fuel transporter unit which has a moving floor converyor driven by an independent engine.
Special jacking stilts allow the demountable body to be raised and left suspended.
Prominent were mobile conveyors and among the latest featured by Fyson and Son was a 20 ft. model driven by an electric motor which has a bagging-off control for use when filling sacks.
