Words/ Images: Colin Barnett So it's goodbye from Torbay, and it's goodbye from the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM) Exhibition. Next year, it will be called Futuresource and will be held at London's ExCeL centre.

After 22 years, the final trek to the English Riviera's seafront began in fitting fashion, with blazing sunshine and attendees holding mixed views over the event's future. Even those who regularly moaned about the tortuous journey freely admitted things would never be the same again. The CIWM Exhibition show may have shrunk to half its size, but there was still plenty of innovation among the vehicles on display. •
