Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

An output of 2gal per minute at a speed of 200 mph is the claim of Warwick Pump and Engineering for its new general purpose washer—the 500 Power Cleaner. The unit has a working pressure of 500 psi which is claimed to be sufficient for the majority of cleaning jobs in the transport industry. The 500 can be connected to a hot water supply of up to 60 deg C (140 deg F) or direct to a cold water source.

The two-cylinder pump is driven by a 1 hp, 250V singlephase electric motor as standard unit but a three-phase motor or a 3 hp petrol engine drive can be used as alternatives.

An accurate metering device can be used to mix detergent, etc, with cold water at up to a 20:1 ratio.

Running costs of about 2.5 pence an hour for electricity and 6d hour for petrol, excluding detergents, are claimed for the washer.

Made by: Warwick Pump and Engineering Co Ltd, Oxford Road, nr. Dorchester-on-Thames. Oxford.
