• A spokesman for Fodens Ltd told CM this week that rumours of his company• making a counterbid for Atkinsons Lorries (Holdings) Ltd were quite unfounded. This followed the announcement on June 16 that the directors of Atkinson had received an offer from ERF (Holdings) Ltd to acquire the whole. of the issued share capital of Atkinson on the basis of one ordinary share of ERF for three ordinary shares of Atkinson.
Representatives of both ERF and Atkinson said on Tuesday that the offer was still open and no further statement could be made at this juncture.
