At the agm of United Carriers last week the, chairman, Mr R. R. Kearsley, announced that negotiations were well advanced for the acquisition of a leading express parcels company in an area not already covered by the group. It is understood that the company is S. E. Thomas and Son Ltd, Maidstone, operators of a 71-vehicle fleet, but confirmation could not be obtained early this week.
