Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

By Laura Hailstone OPERATORS ARE being urged to keep abreast of all Olympicrelated trafic news and changes to the road network over the next fortnight to ensure minimal disruption to deliveries.

The Olympic Route Network (ORN) became fully operational on Wednesday (25 July) and will be in place until 14 August. Between the hours of 6am and midnight there is no stopping or unloading on the ORN and only oficial Games trafic can drive in the dedicated lanes along the ORN.

“Firms need to ensure they keep up to date with what’s happening day-by-day; it’s the unexpected incidents that operators will need to know about,” says Natalie Chapman, head of policy for London at the Freight Transport Association (FTA).

Transport for London (TfL) is issuing a twice daily email bulletin to anyone who registers their email address via freight@tl.gov.uk, as well as providing live trafic updates via Twitter (@TfLTraficNews).

The FTA is issuing alerts to its members with information that TfL can’t provide, such as security alerts from the police. It has also launched a free app, which includes details of the ORN, a calendar of dates showing expected congestion and all the latest trafic news (fta.co.uk/mobileapp). A dedicated adviser will be on hand at FTA’s member advice centre to answer any queries. CM has set up a dedicated Olympics page (commercialmotor.com/ Olympics) featuring the TfL live trafic feed, as well as relevant advice to help you service your customers during the Games. We will update the site as we receive the latest alerts from TfL, FTA and the Road Haulage Association, but please contact us if your drivers are experiencing any problems delivering in a certain area: laura.hail stone@roadtransport.com Useful websites: • commercialmotor.com/Olympics • tl.gov.uk/gettingaround/ london2012/24435.aspx • getaheadofthegames.com/ • fta.co.uk/Olympics • rha.uk.net/campaigning/ olympics_2012/
