ROAD NEWS IS ON THE MOVE • Drivers heading south towards the Forth Road Bridge are now being warned of roadworks, lane closures and adverse weather via an electronic signposting system.

This is the first time that electronic information signs have been installed on Scottish motorways. They are mounted above the existing lane-control gantries. The signs can also be used to stop or divert traffic, and will give notice when the bridge is closed, or when special vehicles are being escorted across.
