LT makes comeback

LONDON TRANSPORT bus services are improving. This was the opinion of chairman Ralph Bennett, reviewing performance results for the first half of this year.

Bus availability is claimed to be the best since the summer of 1973, and staff recruitment problems are easing. Bus mileage this year is so far three per cent above budget.

LT has widely publicised these improvements, and Mr Bennett said that -in view of recent events. Londoners should know some of the good news about London Transport.

But I am by no means complacent about the results we are achieving. I want to see further improvement, so that we can meet the most challenging tar get of all winning back passengers.'
