PERKINS ENGINES are to spend £2m to increase production at their Peterborough plant.
Output will be increased from 300,000 diesel engines a year to around 360,000 over the next three years. The work force will be increased by 10 per cent to about 6,600.
The company's subsidiary in Brazil is to nearly double production facilities to 100,000 engines a year over the next three years.
