A NEW holding.compa.ny is being formed in Scotland by the National Freight Corporation. The company which comes into effect from January 1 1975. will hold the assets of Scottish Road Services Ltd and Tayforth Ltd. The companies are engaged in general haulage, contract. hire, 'and warehousing operations.
Mr T. Atkin, who is chairman and trid of Tayforth Ltd, will be the chairman, the managing director will be Mr John Copland, currently manager of SRS Ltd.
The new company will be looking at the planning and co-ordination of NFC's Scottish investments, and the two operating companies will continue to trade as separate transport units.
The NFC said this week that the trade unions representing their Scottish employees • had been involved in the discussion leading to the formation of the holding company.
