Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Leyland vehicles, as we find their products equal to anything else — despite Mr Johnston's views.

We operate from a small village in the Fens and even here by a small journey in any direction we can find no less than five Leyland dealers. I don't see why Leyland commercials should be condemned by their colleagues in the car industry.

I think the T45 will herald a new era for Leyland, and by condemning it by reference to its predecessor is unfair.

Maybe Leyland could arrange a T45 test drive for Mr Johnston, and then he could speak as he found.

P. W. FOX Harold Fox & Sons Isle of Ely, Cambridgeshire MR G. Johnston thought it advisable for anyone considering buying the Leyland T45 to stick to well-proven lorry builders: ''all imports.'

It seems that no matter what Leyland do there will always be someone ready to knock them in favour of foreign vehicles. It does seem rather irresponsible to write off Leyland's new range of lorries before they even go on the road.

All it needs is a fair crack of the whip from the men who run the road haulage industry -to make the T45 one of the best selling premium lorries in Britain.
