A VEHICLE recovery company in Kent is contacting other similar companies with a view to setting up an independent national recovery service for commercial vehicles as we went to press.
Auto Renovations of Rochester say the proposed scheme would be based on independent recovery operators offering a reciprocal 24 hours a day, seven days a week service at a more economic rate than existing recovery schemes.
Dave Rackham, Auto Renovations' proprietor feels that many haulage operators are being "ripped-off by the many pirates operating in the recovery industry."
A letter is going out from his company to selected recovery operators and depending on the response, it is hoped the new scheme will be in operation throughout England and Wales by spring.
