Holset Engineering Co Ltd of Huddersfield, Yorkshire has bee awarded a contract worth E1/2m for Ford original equipment.
The 83 viscous fan drive unit, designed specifically for true and bus use, will be offered as an optional extra on the For D-Series.
The unit incorporates a temperature-sensing element whic controls the fan speed to meet the engine cooling needs.
When used with the Ford D-Series, it is said to achieve a 5 pc cent reduction in fuel consumption.
