A LONG-AWAITED local bus service started this week in Erskine New Community in Renfrewshire.
Western SMT, with support from Strathclyde Region and Greater Glasgow PTE, has launched a group of off-peak fare services linking four separate housing developments with the central shopping area at Bargarran.
To cope with the town's narrow streets, three 13 to 15-year old Bedford VAS midibuses have been allocated to the services, which are being monitored closely to assess their long-term future.
