Seddon Motors Ltd introduced a new -ton-gcw tractive unit called the 38:Four the Brussels Truck Show which closes on nday. The new model, which is being own by Seddon's distributor in Belgium, s a sleeper-cab with improved interior m. The interior paintwork is in matt black prevent reflections, and it is relieved by 1 pvc plastic panels. Two fluorescent hts are recessed in the ceiling, which is :o trimmed in tan pvc.
Instruments include a tachograph, and to prove driver comfort a suspension seat standard and the whole engine compartmt is lined with thick foam insulation ainst noise.
A turbo-charged six-cylinder Rolls-Royce gle 12-litre diesel engine developing 5 hp to BS AU 141a: 1971 is fitted in njunction with a twin-plate clutch, a le-speed Fuller gearbox and Seddon's ,r1 double-reduction rear axle designed to
13 tons to suit operation in Belgium, prembourg and France.
To accommodate the longer sleeper cab, ;. Seddon 38:Four has an lift 2in.ieelbase and the frame is hitched inside th lengths of pressed-steel angle ain. ck.
