facing a compensation claim for £ 250,000 after a subcontractor suffered mutliple injuries while working on one of its trailers, Electrician Stuart Milne was fitting a cable to the inside of the trailer when a roof panel from another trailer dropped from a crane.

Gerry Forbes of compensation specialist Quantum Claims, which is acting for Milne. says: "I believe one of the steel ropes snapped. causing the panel to fall and actually hit the panel he was working on."

Milne suffered fractures to the skull. shoulder and ankle as well as broken ribs and crushed vertebrae.

He has been off work ever since the accident in October 2002, at Gray & Adams' manufacturing plant in Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire. Forbes says: "It is not clear whether he will work again."

A spokesman for Gray & Adams declined to comment on the matter as it is an "ongoing case".
