Take a stroll with us through the little sideroads of haulage, the diversions and detours, the quirky, the quixotic and the downright strange...

Only in Britain? Not quite. One of CMs intrepid team was on a strenuous trip to the Swiss Alps recently, and a couple of spare hours of rest and recuperation were scheduled to bE spent tobogganing. Our bunch of keen-eyed scribes are always on the lookout for the more interesting examples of graffiti artists' work on the roads. Some of our recent favourites were the "Viagra Demonstration Team" on tour in their grubby white Transit, the Asda trailer near Newbury, sadly proclaiming "I was wf when I was at Tesco". LT1, maker et the finest purpose-built taxi cabs, has issued press release extolling the security benefits of its products well as making the interesting claim that in the past 55 yea only 12 people have been killed or injured while riding in bl cabs, the release also covers the dangers to women from unlicensed mini-cab drivers. All good socially responsible stuff, only to be somewhat undermined by the accompany photograph of this provocatively posed blonde in leather miniskirt and boots.
