For the first time, the engine and transmission are isolated from the equipment frame, completely protecting both units against shock and torsional stress. And providing users with a high degree of reliability, easier maintenance and more standardization. The 'B" Series Crawlers also feature improved performance and driver comfort, plus easier handling.
To achieve exceptional standards of reliability and ease of maintenance, Timken tapered roller bearings are fitted wherever there are heavy radial and thrust loads—on the power reverser transmission, final drive, top idlers and front id lers.Timken tapered roller bearings are manufactured from special case carburizing steel made to our own specification, giving a hard wearing outer surface with a tough inner core.
