Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Anomalies existing in the fares which ildren have to pay for journeys to and om school has led the Association of ducation Committees, supported by the .ssociation of Municipal Corporations, to 31( for a thorough review of school ansport. They claim that because of higher tre rates for short distances in populated teas than for longer journeys in outlying teas, families of three or four children may ay more than the cost of their school inners for a short journey to school.

The Associations wish to discuss this roblem with the Department of Education, the light of steadily increasing costs, :creasing public transport and modern affic conditions. They are codcerned, for ample, with the fact that in the London ransport area season tickets at reduced des can only be obtained for children rider 14 and prepaid tickets for children rider 13.
