T' Minister of Transport said in the Commons this week that he was considering an amendment of the Road Traffic Act so as to require insurance policies in respect of third-party risks to cover liability for damage to passengers. in or upon motor vehicles.

The M.P. who asked for the Government's policy towards this change—Mr. Geoffrey Howe (Tory, I3ebington)— also asked for their views about requirs ing passengers to be covered by insurance in respect of their liability to compensate other road users for damage resulting from the passengers' actions.
